Makers Mark tasting notes:

Over 2 cubes

Classic bourbon sweetness on the nose. Luxardo cherries, toffee, vanilla, butterscotch. Surprisingly little heat, given the high proof. Upon sipping, very rich mouthfeel and smooth heat, this is deep heat. Not the cheap burn. A lot of that same butterscotch on the palate, toasty wood, very complex, cinnamon sticks and other bitter elements. Hard to place exactly. Alluring and very enjoyable. Nice long finish. Skip the manhattans or old fashioneds with this juice. A nice sipper on the rocks.

Another nice selection at the Party Mart in Louisville. They taste and hand select from single barrels and when they find one they like, they buy the whole barrel, bottle it all, label it as such and that’s what they sell in their store. You’ll notice on the bottle, “Oak Stave Selection by, Liquor Barn #7”. That’s them. Nice pickin’ boys!!
